Protect yourself and your loved ones:

• Get Hard-Wired! Ethernet cables provide faster, safer, more secure internet connections.
• Turn OFF wireless when not in use, if you must use it at all. It constantly emits microwave radiation while on.
• Use a corded landline at home. Cordless phones are as dangerous as cellphones.
• Keep your distance. Turn it OFF. Phone manuals tell you to keep your phone out of your pocket and away from your skull. Mobile phones emit microwave radiation constantly while waiting for a call.
  Airplane mode turns off most transmitters in most phones and preserves the battery.

  Use Laptops on battery whenever possible with a wired external keyboard, mouse, and internet connection, and wireless turned OFF. Do not use wireless devices inside metal enclosures, like cars, elevators, airplanes and trains. Here, radiation greatly increases.

• Ditch the "smart" (aka AMR, AMI, ERT...) meter - it pulses microwave radiation 24/7/365. Demand a non-electronic analog meter - no "dirty electricity" or microwaves. Support consumer protection legislation.
• Support universal fiberoptic broadband to premises.

Share with friends, family, neighbors, or get it inserted into the newspaper (many papers will do this route by route and schedule for days when there are no other inserts). Prices for newspaper inserts are often a lot more reasonable than you might think!

  • Educate your legislators. Send them the pdf flyer with information about the hazardous nature of RF/microwave radiation. Follow up with other information from www.electricalpollution.com and information your receive as a member of the Protect Wisconsin! email list. Don't overwhelm your legislator. Give them one or two short items at a time. Keep giving them information periodically. Touch base with them and their staffers by phone. Politely make sure they understand the importance of the issue to you.

  • Ask your legislators to sponsor or co-sponsor this consumer protective smart meter legislation, please see the footnotes for useful links and references. Smart meters are neither green, smart, or safe. There are far better ways to save energy than moving from passive mechanical analog meters to energy consumptive and dangerous meters. The meters are also an egregious violation of the 2008 ADA Amendments Rights of people with radiofrequency sickness since the constant emissions can seriously, even dangerously, impair them while on premises with the meters or with the meters nearby and therefore increases their isolation.

  • Ask your legislator to sponsor or co-sponsor legislation to repeal the Mobile Tower Siting Regulations which passed in the 2013 Budget Bill (see 2013 Budget, starting on p. 310) and remove what little local control communities retained under the 1996 Telecommunications Act to make choices about communication tower siting. Communities in Wisconsin should have at least as much choice regarding tower placement as other communities in the United States. The passage of the Mobile Tower Siting Regulations took away what little local control that communities had.

  • Ask your legislator to sponsor or co-sponsor legislation to repeal the Telecommunications Modernization Act which was passed in 2011 and virtually eliminated state regulation of phone companies, leaving consumers high and dry. (See January 2011 Special Session SENATE BILL 13 and 2011 WISCONSIN ACT 22 for more information.) After May 2013, telephone companies are no longer required to provide landline telephone service to customers. This is particularly foolish given the very real health hazard posed by the wireless technology that would replace landline telephones. This is also an egregious violation of the 2008 ADA Amendments Rights of people with radiofrequency sickness since they cannot use wireless devices and so this will increase their isolation.

  • Watch "Take Back Your Power" and loan it to friends and relatives.
    • Donate a copy to your local library.
    • Give/loan a copy to your legislators.
    • Hold a showing to promote community awareness and catalyze action, see www.takebackyourpower.net to find out how.

    Safe High-Speed Internet Access

  • Urge your legislators to support fiber optic internet to premises
    • Send them Could WiFi in schools be harming our kids?
    • Ask your legislators to watch this video which demonstrates how very strongly even home WiFi systems can transmit. These levels have been shown in at least one epidemiological study to significantly increase the rate of cancer within 5 years, see theBreast Cancer page for more information. It is also important to note that radiation from wireless internet systems trespasses into other people's homes, so hardwired internet is not only the safest and most secure, but also the option that does not violate the human rights of neighbors.
    • Give them these informative articles about the dangers of wireless:

According to the U.S. Department of Interior - "Study results have documented nest and site abandonment, plumage deterioration, locomotion problems, reduced survivorship, and death".       • Wireless harms plants. Plant growth experiments performed by Danish 9th grade students and repeated by a second grader in Michigan yielded stunning results and show in a very visual manner that plant growth can be severely impaired by the pulsed modulated microwave radiation from WiFi.     Protect Children From WiFi in Schools

  • Contact the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction - Ask them to prohibit the use of wireless technology in Wisconsin's schools.

    Protect Children "Dirty" Electricity In Schools, another source of RF exposure.

  • Ask the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Legislature to clean up the high levels of "dirty" electricity in schools.

  • Provide the following information to Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, teachers, teachers unions, other parents, parents organization, and educators regarding the dangers of "dirty" electricity.
    • A New Electromagnetic Exposure Metric: High Frequency Voltage Transients Associated With Increased Cancer Incidence in Teachers in a California School published in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine, 2008 about the link between "dirty" electricity and cancer in schools.
    • Power quality affects teacher wellbeing and student behavior in three Minnesota Schools, published in Science of the Total Environment, July 2008 about the improvement in the learning environment in "clean" electrical environments.
    • "Teacher and Student Response to the Removal of Dirty Electricity by the Graham/Stetzer Filter in Willowwood School in Toronto, Canada" about improvements in learning when electrical pollution levels were "cleaned" up.
    • Read and pass on these letters from a nurse in schools that cleaned up their electrical environment.
